placement year or internship? A&F

I have two offers:

University or Birmingham- accounting and finance
or
University of Southampton- with placememt year

Although Birmingham is the better university for A&F, Southampton has a placement year?

I hope to get into one of the big 4 graduate schemes after.
would a placement year or internship be more beneficial?

A friend doing A&F did his placement year in America - something to think about.

Although I don't know much about A&F, as a maths student who did a placement year I thought it was really good to get stuck into some long-term projects, but if you can get an internship then I can't imagine the two experiences being that different in terms of value.
