Hi I'm starting uni in September, I currently live at home with my mum & brother (aged 22), but am planning on moving out for uni! My mum is on a very low income so I'd worked out that I'd get the maximum loan & a low income bursary if my loan is based on her wage however my brother is on a high income (earning more than double what my mum earns) so my question is will my brothers income effect the amount of loan I will get? As obviously he never gives me money! Just I noticed it asks about this on the application?

    Hi Becka,

We would not take a siblings income into consideration when assessing your student finance. We would only assess on a parent's , step parent or partners income.

    Thanks
