I'm trying to think of what I read and enjoyed at that age, I think I read The Book Thief at about 15 but would recommend it for any age, a really moving novel.

One Of Us Is Lying by Karen McManus. Bestselling YA novel about a group of different teens who are all suspects of a crime. My absolute favourite book! Anyone else read this??

Amelie Nothomb's Fear and Trembling, while short, is extremely funny and well written.

Pretty much anything by Garth Nix, although the Keys to the Kingdom series is aimed at a slightly younger audience, the Old Kingdom series is not so much writing to a young audience specifically, and very good reading

ALSO ANYTHING WRITTEN BY TERRY PRATCHETT AND URSULA LE GUIN

Battle Royale, The Humans, Noughts and Crosses, The Power.
All of these seem good. I’ll eventually read them. However, is the power for girls?

I wouldn't say it's "for" girls, but it focuses heavily on female characters. There is a male main character though.
