Hi, I'm just finishing off my Level 3 Diploma in Health and Social Care and I'm struggling with a few questions on Promoting Positive Behaviour/Managing Challenging Behaviour
2b -Describe how an individual can be supported to reflect on an incident including: – their behaviour
My answer: Support the individual to understand that the behaviour may not be appropriate or acceptable and most importantly the reasons why, how it can harm others or themselves, helping them to answer those questions themselves when possible, para-phrasing back to them to clarify. It is important throughout this to remain calm and positive, talking about what they could have done differently and what we can do in future to help them, proposing better alternatives, rather than what they have done “wrong”.
5.2c -Describe how an individual can be supported to reflect on an incident including: – the consequence of their behaviour
5.2d -Describe how an individual can be supported to reflect on an incident including: - how they were feeling after the incident
I feel like in order to answer the second two questions, I'm just going to be repeating the first answer! There's also already been a question about helping the individual to return to a calm state, so I've already written about body language, open ended questioning, etc to reflect on the incident. They all feel like the same question!! Any help?
Thanks in advance!
What should I do?
