kind of confused butttt question is asking me for equation of incomplete combustion of C11H24 and i thought the products would be CO + h2O BUTTT mark scheme is saying C11H24 + 6O2 -----> 11C + 12H2O
im just confused on which is right... carbon product orrr carbon monoxide product?!?!?!

Both are correct. You can form Carbon in the form of soot or CO2 as well. They should allow both on the mark scheme.
C11H24 + 17O2 -> 11CO2 + 12H2OLast edited by Federerr; 06-02-2018 at 18:35.
