If I want to take a science based course (Chemistry or Biology related, not Maths or Physics), how could I make my application to university more competitive not grades related (eg extra curricular activities)? What could I do to get UCAS points?

UCAS points aren’t actually something most universities go by. Extra curricular activities that are linked to the sciences or that you can link to them are your best bet. Be that volunteering at hospitals, seeing if you can spend any time with anyone doing research in the area etc. Extra reading is very important too, it shows academic interest in the subject beyond the level you currently study it at.
