Are glaswegians hostile/nasty to english visitors?

I’m a londoner visiting glasgow for a day. Someone i know who went to glasgow said he was in a bar and as soon as the locals picked up his southern english accent they gave him dirty looks and looked threatening. Are they hostile to southerners since I don’t want to be threatened and I know of the city’s violent rep?

Been there a few times and not had any issues.
Take it from someone who has lived there. Do not go into bars on your day trip unless it is right next to George Sqaure. Posh looking ones full of middle class women.
If you are going to Glasgow uni, then go very nearby or stay in uni.
Frankly, stay away from “traditional” bars altogether.
