I've recently been accepted onto a primary education course at Brighton and Sussex and I'm having a really tough time deciding which one to choose. I'd love to hear about anyone's experiences at either of the Universities to help me along with my choice! if you've taken or are taking 5-11 primary education/ primary English education at Brighton or Primary and early years education at Sussex and have any thoughts/ opinions that would be even better!!

What are the differences between the courses?

Early years and 5-11 aren't the same. It shouldn't be too difficult for you to go for a 5-11 job with an early year specialisation in your degree (I imagine) but Early Years employment-wise is quite popular, so having a 5-11 specialism in that might make you disadvantaged compared with other applicants who have specialised into early years. I'm not an expert in this, but it's what I'd imagine to be the case. Let your career plan guide your university choices.

I suppose that the primary difference between the two would really just be whether you’d prefer to work with infants or juniors when you are in your job. You’ll have a much better time getting a Reception job if you’d don’t an early years course, and a Y6 job if you’ve done 5-11
