Probably a long shot but I applied to CU Coventry to do Proffesional accounting, studying only on Saturdays. I only have below average GCSEs. I am 24 with a two year old boy and a full time shift pattern job I have about 5 years work experience. Just wondering if they take anything other than GCSEs and A-Levels in to consideration?

Their entry requirements will be on their website.

What are the grade requirements, and what GCSEs do you hold? You mention you have 5 years work experience, is this related to your degree field?

English, RS, D&T ICT GCSE Grade C
    Maths, History GCSE grade D.
My work experience is just factory work so not relevant to degree.
They have a option to do foundation year which I’m willing to do as well

I know. Just asking for someone’s opinion on this or to see if anyone else is or has been in a similar situation and the result.

It won’t make any difference what someone else thinks and it’s unlikely that someone will be in exactly the same situation and end up with the same result. People will apply from a variety of backgrounds so focus on why you’re a good candidate and meeting the entry requirements.

i dont know if what you have is enough for university requirement, but the next best thing i know to get back on route to uni is access course which lasts a year. it is recognised by unis and would be best qualification to have in your case
