    Hello,

For the 2018/19 Academic Year we will ask parents to declare their income from the 2016/17 tax year.

However if parents household income has decreased by 15% or more since the 2016/17 tax year they are able to apply for a 'Current Year Income Assessment' where they would estimate their 2018/19 income details to us.

    Thanks

    Scott
Thank you for answering my question

Is the income based on the amount before or after the tax is deducted and what does it mean by a valid passport. (Is it just one that hasn't expired?)
    Thank you
    Hello,

For financial information we ask for the gross (before tax) figure if in employment and net profit for self employment.

Yes that is correct, a valid passport means an in-date document not expired (before the start of the course)

    Thanks,

    Scott

Hi, we are having difficulties trying to register my husband (who has previously had student finance) onto an online account so that he can enter supporting details for my application. It just comes up with a "Something has gone wrong..." error message after he enters his name and D.O.B. We've been trying for the last 4 hours. Any ideas how we can fix this?

    Hello,

If your husband has previously had an account, he will need to use these details to support your account, the system will not allow a duplicate account to be created.

If he no longer knows the original account details, one of our trained advisers can assist with retrieving these by calling our helpline on 0300 100 0607 during the hours of 08:00 - 20:00 Monday - Friday and 09:30 - 16:00 on a Saturday,

    Thanks,

    Scott

    Hi

I’m applying as a mature student, will I be assessed on my current income only as I have been financially independent from my parents for more than 3 years and I am over 25?

    Many thanks

    Hello.

If you are single we would not take your current income into account as you will automatically be assessed as an independent student due to your age and we don't take student income into consideration. However, if you have a partner who is living with you, we would request their income details.

    Thanks
