Hi! I would love to study French at degree level but I’m not sure what A Levels to choose?! I’ve handed in a couple of application forms so far for sixth forms, applying to do French, English Language, Biology and Psychology but I’m not sure if those are the right options to get me into university? Thank you in advance!

They’re not though! I’ve looked on many websites and university course pages but they all say the grades you need not the subjects!

I’m pretty sure you only need French - although another language and English (Lit mostly as it relates to the literature part of the French course) would be helpful, potentially History as well.

Although if I were you, I wouldn’t do four (I dropped my fourth one a month into Year 12) - you really don’t need it esp for French, and its a lot easier to focus on everything else with just three. Hope this helped

Thank you so much!! I didn’t do History GCSE unfortunately so that’s off the table haha! I will drop one of the subjects (either biology or psychology) once I figure out which one I’m better at but I want to keep my options open
