    It is a picture of a weak, tired mother holding her child, and entirely helpless. She's living in the victorian times, when lower class people were worked like machines and lost their sanctity of life as making money was prioritised over they were. You can allude this to the situation in pieta art works where the Virgin Mary holds the dead body of Jesus, which is a tragedy that encapsulates the feelings of a mother who has lost her child ( like the image). Additionally, the death of Jesus can be seen as making the world godless and unfeeling, which is probably how the mother in the picture feels and how victorian society was for the poor

    I'm not sure what level this creative writing is for, but if alluding to that would be too difficult then just talk about feelings of hopelessness, and how this woman lost her baby in a time when the boundary between man and machine was being blurred.
