    Hi Anita Sackey,

Unfortunately, to be eligible for funding as a Migrant Worker/family member of a Migrant Worker, the Migrant Worker can't be from the UK, they must have immigrated to the UK from somewhere else in the EU to be eligible.

    Kind regards,

    John.

    Hi John

Can you please advise me on which of the the category I may fall within to get maintenance loan but not just only tuition fee. As life has started becoming difficult to manage both child care and the university life. Which date do you have to proof if you are asked to proof three years residency since your course is starting in February thanks.

    Hi Anita,

If I can just ask a couple of questions to determine if there is a route for the maintenance loan.

    What is your nationality?
How long have you lived in the UK?
Are you working as well as studying?

    Thank you,

    John.

    Hi Anita,

Unfortunately I can't give any option to receive the maintenance loan.

As you're partner is a UK national, you'd be unable to apply as the spouse of a Migrant Worker and as you're not from the EU you'd be unable to apply as a Migrant Worker yourself.

To be eligible for the maintenance loan as a non EEA/EU national, you'd need to have 3 years residency in the UK with a lawful residency status (Limited leave to remain, indefinite leave to remain etc...) before the first day of the first academic year as well as indefinite leave to remain before the first day of the first academic year.

    Kind regards,

    John.

    Hi Anita,

You would complete a PN1 form which you can find here, you'll also find guidance notes under the form that provide extra information on all the questions.

    Best wishes,

    John.

    Hi John

I thought the form PN1 is for migrants workers only thus that means none EEA OR EU can as well fill the same form.
    Thanks

    Hi Anita,

That's correct, the PN1 is for any student who is applying for home funding (the Tuition Fee Loan and Maintenance Loan), the questions on there will determine what route you go down, Migrant Worker, home student, EU student with 5 years residency.

    Kind regards,

    John.
