If sales of a product had risen steadily over the last ten years would this necessarily be a guide to the future? Why?

You could talk about the product life cycle that all products should follow. This means eventually it will go into decline although it could be postponed by an extension strategy. I find it easier when the exam gives a context to talk about though. How many marks is that question worth?
