M463 - CPS review motion, Joecphillips seconded by CountBrandenbergThis House believes that the Government should order a review into all ongoing cases as well as contested cases, where those convicted are maintaining their innocence by independent barristers and caseworkers, who do not answer to the police nor the CPS.

We are in the middle of a unprecedented crisis in which the CPS has been shown to have failed to withhold key evidence which has caused the collapse of multiple cases in the uk and trust in the CPS has been hit, we need to establish how big this problem is and limiting it to one type of cases means that it is impossible to see how widespread this problem is.

One withheld message in a rape case reportedly said “It wasn’t against my will or anything.” That case went on for 2 years and the case continued even after the messages were reviewed.

The Director of Public Prosecutions Alison Saunders has asserted that no innocent people are in prison due to disclosure failures cannot be shown to be true without this.
