Hello. I am really hoping you might be able to help/advise me. Due to mental illness, I am currently a suspended student but wanted to try returning as a part-time student on a full-time course to complete my third year. However, my personal tutor has told me that because I do not have any work that needs repeating, I am not able to return as a part-time student on a full-time course. I asked if my mental health issues would enable me to do so but she says no. However, I was previously under the impression that due to having compelling personal reasons, I could potentially return part-time and receive full funding including maintenance loans.
Needless to say, this news from my personal tutor has had a devastating impact on me. Is there any way around this situation so that I could return as a part-time student on a full-time course? I would be ever so grateful if there is a way around this.
If this is not possible, if I changed my status to being a part-time student, could I be eligible for a maintenance loan due to compelling personal reasons?
Any information/advice you might be able to offer would be appreciated.
    Heather.
