What is Edinburgh uni like?

It may seem like a silly question, but what is the uni, as a whole, like? I am thinking of applying there to do maths & computer science, and as I live right down in Devon, I don't yet know if I will be able to view it. Both maths & comp sci are in the james clerk maxwell building, on the king's buildings site, and I was just wondering what it's like basically! What kind of buildings they are, if it's an attractive site, how old it is, how far away (roughly) it is from the main campus, if it's easy to walk between the two campuses, accommodation, and if there is any near to the king's buildings, what it's like, etc... I mean, the uni appears nice in the prospectus and on the website, but you can't really tell, because I thought York uni looked really great, but when I visited it I wasn't particularly impressed. ANYWAY, thanks anyone who can answer my q's
Best for you to go visit Edinburgh. Very few people don't like Edinburgh and it's second only to Imperial/Oxbridge for computing science. Great location at Kings buildings and close enough to city centre for everythng outside classes.

KB is a severe walk from Pollock Halls for me , a bike may come in handy next year!

There's a shuttle bus between George Square and KB, but not pollock. It's not that bad a walk, 20-25 mins at worst.

Edinburgh is awesome, and in your 1st year most of the lectures are at George Square no matter what. In fact, for Maths & Comp Sci NONE of your 1st year lectures will be at KB.

... and it's not full of gay people.

(I love Edinburgh. Not bias, I swear. The buildings rock.)
