I’m currently doing (Scottish higher) higher physics and need to pick subjects for next year. Was thinking about doing advance higher physics and math? Has anyone done this or have an opinion on this? I’m a bit confused about what to do.

I’m planning on applying to astrophysics, thanks for the opinion. I just don’t know if both physics and math will be too much ? I also have to take two other highers along with the advanced highers

Having adv highers is extremely helpful at scottish unis for first year. Scottish unis only assume up to Higher knowledge so a lot of stuff is retaught in first year, so if you know most if it its extremely easy (trust me im currently in this situation, studying Physics).

I recommend taking Adv Phys and Maths. If you expect to meet entry requirements in S5 then don't worry too much about taking useful Highers in S6, otherwise try and take a couple science related Highers such as Chem or Bio although it should't matter too much unless it's a direct entry requirement.

Since you are wanting to do physics at uni, AH physics and maths are definitely good choices. It will give you a good grounding, and make the overall workload in 1st year uni more manageable (i.e. there will be a fair bit of the course you'll already know from AH, which means you will be less stressed about the actual work, which can allow you to settle in more to uni life).
The subjects of the other highers you do don't really matter.

    Hope this helps
