A 38-year-old Faiz Siddiqui claimed that Oxford University's “hopelessly bad” and “boring” history teaching affected his grade and career prospects. The graduate sort £1million in compensation as he feels not getting a first will harm his furture. The case was unsuccessful.

You can read more on the story here.

What do you make of this? Do you think he had a case? Could a uni be at fault for a student not getting top marks?

It said when he first sued Oxford that he was a few years late.

Getting a First depends on the hard work, dedication and wisdom of the students. If a student does not attain a first class then it is not a fault of the University environment or the teachers.

If he genuinely thought it were the result of inadequate teaching, surely he would have sued nearer the time of graduation instead of 18 years later?
