A 47-year old man has been found guilty of raping a teenage girl between 2000 and 2002 in Rotherham, following an investigation led by the National Crime Agency (NCA).

Asghar Bostan, 47 from East Bawtry Road, Rotherham was charged in May 2017 as part of Operation Stovewood - the NCA’s investigation into non-familial child sexual exploitation and abuse between 1997 and 2013.

The victim – who was aged under 16 at the time of the abuse - came forward to South Yorkshire Police in 2014 to report the abuse and the case was referred to the NCA’s Operation Stovewood team.

She told officers she was given drugs and alcohol, and coerced into staying at a flat in Rotherham, where Bostan raped her on two occasions.

He has been sentenced to nine years in prison following a five-day trial at Sheffield Crown Court.

9 years?! That is ridiculous and a slap in the face of the poor victim. We need tougher sentences for rape that's for sure.

especially for that long time that he did it.

What has happened to this world?
Claiming that someone has done something horrid to people, then basically letting them off with a small sentence

What's even worse is he'll probably be out in like 6 for "good behaviour"

It's not just this though, many criminals get away with lenient sentences of just a few years inside

Ridiculous. That girl suffered for two years and will forever live with the psychological damage. He will be free most likely in half a decade.

    Nearer four and a half.
Hopefully there may be an appeal.

Lots of this stuff going on around Britain - even to this day. But no feminist outrage.

Some Hollywood guy gets allegations thrown at him and it's MeToo, TimesUp and non-stop opinion pieces.

    It's strange.

    It’ll probably be less.

I don’t really understand this desire for revenge ‘justice’ - it doesn’t serve any real purpose

Acts like this are happening around the world.
You see Harvey Weinstein the man behind the molestation of over 100 women will not serve a prison sentence because of statue of limitations.

If anyone is proven of rape they should have much tougher sentences especially young girls.
