Been picked for a football team tomorrow that i've never played for.

    It's mens open age I'm 17.

I mean, i'm fairly decent at football (not played in 2 years) but I get the feeling that this is going to be a very good league - any advice on getting over embarrassment if I end up to be rubbish compared.

Walk in telling them you're rubbish. That makes it alright if you actually underwhelm them because you did say... lowers the expectations and it's the expectations that make us feel embarrassed.
