I finished high school in 2015 in Romania and went to uni in uk for a year and left the course in 2016 because it simply wasn't what I expected(I was also a bit too, stupid, bummed, insert whatever you want in there)...now I want to apply again to another course at another uni...but i need a reference...as the course i want to apply for is geography related , I was thinking about asking my high school geography teacher to write me a reference, would that reference be ok considering that I left school almost 3 years ago? Or...in the case of...let's say she refuses the write the reference(could happen, we weren't that close)...would a reference from my high school accountacy teacher(she wrote the reference for my first uni course, which was accountancy) be ok considering I will apply for a course in geography?(I know for sure she will write me a reference again)...or the last chance would be a reference from a former employer...which I would really like to keep as the last, last choice.

the best reference is one from your most recent education which would be someone at the university , if you can't get that then ask the university that you are applying to what they would prefer.
