    56% = 45 marks...
    45 is a grade 7 based off of last years grade boundaries - 43 is a 7

In this years grade boundaries that would be no where near a 7

There have been 2 sets of gcse maths 9-1 exams: June 2017 and November 2017. A 7 in June was around 51%, and in November 47%. The November boundaries shouldn't be used on the basis of being more recent, as most of the people sitting them were resits, and not as likely to do well in the exams. A 7 this June will almost definitely be above the previous 51%, but i reckon it will still be below 60%. It would be unusual for their to be a massive jump in results after just one year. It is also interesting to consider that the current y11s are the first to sit all subjects 9-1 (excluding business studs, ancient history etc etc) this could have a widespread effect over all subjects - including maths. 56% shows good promise at this stage of the year 👍, and is surely close to the mysterious 7.
