To start on a different tack to buses and such, students may like to be aware of an article I read in The Daily Mail "Money Mail" section, Weds. Feb 07th 2018, page 51, of a rent scam that a UH student almost fell victim to. I believe this was some time ago, with both the Hertfordshire Police and UH authorities on to this contemporaneously and robustly, but even so I thought it prudent to bring to your attention. " Crooks offered to pay my rent so they could launder cash " - " Alice ( a UH student) said no - but thousands of students ARE falling victim to illegal scams" is the heading so if you can obtain a back issue ( the public library and possibly UH LR keep copies) I would suggest read it. I cannot find an electronic link right away but if do so at a later time will post it.
As the saying goes, if something appears too good to be true, then it usually is.
Now the buses- UNO are having their normal six monthly review of services and these have been submitted as legally required for approval to The Office of Traffic Commissioner - East of England Section- Notices & Procedings.
The OTC sits on them for around a month or two before implementation as the public are entitled on request to see the proposed changes and raise any comments or objections etc. I have requested and received proposed timetable details of the two routes I use the most - the 341/641 & 602.
Briefly, there will be timetable & or route changes to routes 341/641 601, 602, 610, 614/44 615, 653, 658.
Of interest to students is that the 653 will I`m told now include Hatfield Tesco, and the 610 will be extended on Saturdays to Luton.
Also the recently reinstated Sunday/Bank hols. service of the 602 to and from Hatfield Rail Station from The Business Park will stay - at least for the time being.
More info. to follow when confirmed.
