    I was some lights and was turning right. Down the middle of the road there were dashed lines, which I wanted to avoid. As I was moving into the right lane, I realised I'd done this a little early, so steered left a little, back into my lane, before making my way into the right lane. The man doing the test didn't grab the wheel or make any indication that I'd done anything wrong.

    At the end of the test, I was told I could've taken the door mirror off by steering back left a little, so failed my test for this.

    So my understanding is that you swerved into another lane and moved back into yours. This is a serious fault, as it can cause confusion to other drivers.
