Hi, I’m torn between UCL and the uni of York for BSc Psychology 2018 entry.
I have pros and cons of each, for example with UCL it’s very prestigious and rated 2nd in the world for Psychology this year (behind Stanford university, USA), I love the ethnic diversity there, being in London would throw me out of my comfort zone which is something I would really like at this point.
However I don’t like that it’s not a campus and also how expensive it will be to live there
With york, I come from a small city so it would resemble home more but still quite far away, which is good. I love the college system and most people seemed really happy and enthusiastic about the uni when I went there, there was a strong community vibe. However it’s not as prestigious as UCL and I’ve heard people belittle it a lot, and have been told that I’d be silly to reject UCL for York.
The two are completely different from eachother so I just want outsider’s opinions about the universities and student life in London and York. Thank you
(Also I don’t drink much and the night life is not something that would heavily influence my decision)

I studied psychology at UCL and loved every minute of it! Although not a campus feel, most of the departments and libraries are within close proximity, as our most of the halls.
