    Can someone please help me with the Cartesian bit of question 5? I think the mark scheme answer is wrong... cause i thought you're not meant to have the parameter t in the Cartesian equation

    Yes it's incorrect, and most likely a typo because that t in last line should be y

    Thanks so much for your reply! I get up to x^2 =y(t^2 -1)^2 and the get stuck...can you please help here

    y=4t^2 so t^2 = \frac{1}{4}y
