    Hi,

I take the mini-pill and I haven't had a period or bleeding since taking it (over a year). A few days ago I forgot to take my pill and ironically the reason I forgot was because I was having sex. The next day I had sex again and took my pill for that day. A few days later, I have brown discharge and I'm spotting.

    What does this mean, please?

    Thank you

Probably that you're having a reaction to missing taking one of the pills.

Once you realised that you missed taking one, it should have been condoms for two days (how long it takes to thicken the cervical mucus, thus making it harder for sperm to get past your cervix) or seven (how long it takes to prevent ovulation).

If 'a few days' means it's been five or fewer days since the sex and it's critical that you do not become pregnant, you can go to A&E this evening and talk about having an IUD fitted.

Otherwise, it'd be an idea to take a pregnancy test in two weeks. It's unlikely to be positive, but you could have been unlucky.

Oh dear.. :/ It has only been about two days so I will go to A&E just in case. Thank you very much
