If you narrowly miss the conditions of your firm offer, but you do meet the conditions of your insurance, are you automatically committed to your insurance or is it still OK to try to negotiate entry to your firm?

Unis get your results the weekend before you do. If you narrowly miss your firm and they have spaces after accepting all those who met their offers, you might get in. If not then you will be automatically accepted by your insurance in the circumstances you describe.

There's no point trying to negotiate with your firm. They looked at your case and decided they didn't want to take you.

    As above.

Also do not pick an insurance choice that you wouldn’t be happy to go to. No insurance choice is better than one that you would be trying to avoid in August.
