I've applied to comp sci at several unis but my friend chose software engineering. I'm not exactly sure what differences there are. Can someone tell me the differences and the pros and cons of both. Would be greatly appreciated!

Edit: Just saw several threads regarding this topic. No need to reply

Good that you found the answers. I hope you don't mind me replying. The 2 points I would make:

    1) Many uni's have the same 1st Year for the Comp Sci and Software Engineering and they will let you swap over if you want in 2nd year

    2) If you or your friend are not sure you want to be a programmer after uni, CS is a better bet. Although you can still be a programmer after a CS degree.
