    The role of ICM doctors is changing under the impact of other changes in the system, such as the centralisation of specialist surgery, trauma, and emergency care.
    It means that since specialist services e.g. major trauma centres, cardiothoracic surgery, neurosurgery, transplant surgery are now concentrated in big regional centres, that will affect the type of work you do and the patients you'll treat if you're an intensive care doctor in those hospitals vs other, smaller hospitals.
