Hi, I’m 16 (nearly 17) and i feel like I’m going to the toilet way too often, especially at night. I get up through the night around 15 times just to go to the toilet where nothing hardly comes out. I went to my doctor and she did a urine sample and nothing was wrong. I don’t drink any fluids 4 hours before bed so it can’t be that. It’s affecting my sleep and I’m so tired to the point where I can’t be bothered. My eyes have started to puff up and swell because of no sleep. Please can someone help.

Go back to your doctor and ask for more tests.

this is not normal for a 16 year old. your doctor should do blood tests as well as more urine tests.

Drank around 6 glasses a day, but since I’ve started with this I’ve not been drinking as much, and I stop drinking at 6 for when I go to bed

Do you have the urge to urinate or is it just a habit?

If your doctor has ruled out diabetes, I would then wonder perhaps you do this out of anxiety or insomnia. I tend to be the same; when I can’t sleep I wake up to pee a lot more therefore I think I can’t sleep because I’m peeing when it’s actually the other way round.

Btw there’s two types of diabetes, this could easily be diabetes insipidus as opposed to diabetes mellitus.
