Final, for now, acid jazz track from the brilliant Ronny Jordan, who passed away a couple of years ago, and whose album Antidote is excellent, if you like this sort of thing. Lovehttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lANilh2bLo4"] this version of Miles Davis' original. [/url]

Some parts of this are a tad annoying but some are superlative. Just ripe for a re-remix (the original is an old disco track)....

I like this thread! I haven't had the chance to go through the links that have been posted, but here are a couple of my faves (from a long time ago). I used to DJ a fair bit, and for house and classics sets, the following have never let me down

Gat Decor - Passion (Naked Mix)
George Morel - Let's Groove (Original)
Laurent Garnier - Man with the Red Face

...and for something a little more upbeat, I never get bored of Sasha and Emerson - Scorchio, or Maurice - Feline

I was going to post the George Morel Let's Groove track just this morning! Great minds... Fantastic selections (especially Gat Décor), and Sacha is, of course, superb...but the Kidnap Kid (now called just 'The Kid', I think, is quite possibly on par or even better than Sacha!)

No!

Few people are better than Sasha, and this "Kid" person is not one of them

You are probably right. Sasha has been unsurpassed for years but I must admit, I have got into melodic house in a big way recently (via Kid). Listen to Vehl or his mixing in of Ancient Lake (Sebastien Leger mix) in the NYC mix lab thing that he played (it's on You Tube). Still, I am sure that I'll dig out all the Sasha material again, as I periodically do, and he'll be the master again...But, somebody has to take over the mantle! Keep posting! The more, the merrier.

To be honest, I haven't been keeping up to date for the last few years now, so I'm not too sure who Kid is.

Sasha will always be a personal hero thought, he set the standard for mixing in the 90s in terms of harmonic mixing and how to layer tracks together. There is more to DJing that that though and there are better producers.
