You must be exhausted. It takes so much energy to be hateful. Just imagine what you could achieve if you tried to be positive?

There wasn't ever free speech, nor should there be.

Why shouldn’t there be free speech? Shouldn’t everyone be able to voice their opinions without fear of it being censored because it doesn’t fit a certain narrative?

There are plenty of things you shouldn't be free to say:
    - revealing security secrets
    - invasion of privacy
    - inciting violence/crime etc.

The only thing I would agree with there is inciting violence, where that should be looked down upon and if it is a piece of propaganda, should be treated as a crime.
The other two we may see as morally wrong, but it should be allowed unless the person/organisation it relates to kicks up a fuss.

We've all got free speech unless someone complains and it be taken as a crime by the police. Or unless we have disciplinarian parents as a child. Or unless we live in a very authoritarian state which the UK isn't quite.

The problem with the UK is what happened when neo-liberal
conservatives including Thatcher didn't roll back any welfarism whilst demonising the good points of socialism.

Blair ran with the rugby ball and it destroyed true socialism.

I agree with you mate, that's why they wanted to destroy the pub culture, because they don't like groups of people congregating and chatting about stuff. Whereas nowadays online, they can control the narrative of discussion and when it breaks away from the set parameters, they step in. You can see who they are and when they're doing it, if you read through the lines.

Last time I checked, people aren't being arrested for not being politically correct. You're still free to say what you like (as long as you're not illegally discriminating against someone), and anyone who disagrees with you is still free to say what they like in response.

Incidentally, freedom of speech isn't protected by law in the UK in the same way that it is in the US.
