I have received an unconditional from Reading uni for business and management and was wondering if any current students or recent graduates could advise me on the best halls, mainly for socialising, but also quality of accommodation. Thanks

Congratulations on the offer, you must be really happy!

I'm in my final year now, but in my first year I stayed in Bridges hall which I really liked. The accommodation was modern as it was only a year old at the time and the facilities were great. As well, the walk to the centre of campus was only ten minutes which is an obvious bonus!

If you are studying business, then Park Group accommodation will be closer to the business school. It may be worth you looking at the website at which halls you like the look of.

It's all down to personal preference, you need to weigh up your options- whether you want en-suite, or shared bathroom, catered or self catered.
Here is the accommodation website so you can take a look at some pictures of the halls at Reading which will hopefully give you an idea!

With regards to social halls, all the halls are social, and a lot of the time it depends on how social the rest of the people are within your flat! However, at park group there's a bar which has pool tables and lots of seating areas, which is a great place to go for a drink with your flatmates! There are lots of things going on across campus for you to be involved with, so I'd suggest going to some of the freshers evening events, and the sports and societies fairs to meet as many people as possible! I've found it's nice to have different friends from different aspects of uni. So, I have my main friends, (the people I live with) and also course mates and people from clubs and societies!

    Hope this helped!
Any further questions feel free to ask!
