I'm applying for student finance and want to put DeMontfort down as the university, since it's the one I want to go to, and foundation art and design as the course. I remember seeing that student finance does cover this course before, but I can't see it anywhere. It's not listed under the course list and I've seen mixed results everywhere. Does anyone actually know if I can apply for student finance on this course or am I stuffed?

    Hi

That’s a BTEC level 3 diploma according to that site, not an actual foundation degree. Therefore it wouldn’t be funded by SFE higher education.

Advanced learner loans covers level 3, so as long as de Montfort are an eligible advanced learner loan provider(ask them) then tuition fees will be funded.
You don’t get any maintenance loan with an Advanced learner loan.

That's what I was afraid of, damn. Even if I could get an advanced learner loan I need the maintenance loan since I want to move out by September. Thanks for your reply! I do have 2 conditional offers for Teesside and Norwich, so gotta do some thinking about where I want to go
