    If I my daughter done a levels abroad buy my husband lived in Uk got our own property he's always worked here payed tax here , will she be eligible to student finance because my friends are saying she won't be .

    Hi Simranbilal,

    To qualify for Higher Education support as a home student, they must meet the following standard residency requirements.

    UK National
    • Must be ordinarily resident in the UK for 3 years prior to the first day of the first academic year of the course and
    • be ordinarily resident in the UK on the first day of the first academic year of the course.

    EU National.
    • Must be ordinarily resident in the UK for 5 years prior to the first day of the first academic year of the course
    • be ordinarily resident in the UK on the first day of the first academic year of the course.

    Rest of the World (ROW) Nationals
    • ROW nationals should hold either Indefinite Leave to Remain (ILR) or Indefinite Leave to Enter (ILE) status and have been ordinarily resident in the UK for 3 years prior to the first day of the first academic year of the course or
    • be ordinarily resident in the UK on the first day of the first academic year of the course; or
    • have settled status with no restrictions and resident in the UK for 3 years prior to the course start date.
