    Well, first of all, hello
I am looking for current or past Law students of the University of Reading (UK).
Do you have any advices, tipps and/or tricks?
Which is the one thing you would have loved to know before you have started? Any recommended books before my course would start?

I don't study at Reading but if you have any specific questions about studying Law in general I don't mind answering.

    That's really nice from you.

Do you have any tipps or tricks for a fresher? What was the most surprising thing? What would you differently?

Keep up with work. Attend every seminar and participate. Make the most of university life, whether that's through extracurricular activities or attending law firm networking events and the law fair. Don't fall into the trap of thinking that first year isn't important.

Most surprising thing? That's a tough question. For me personally, I mostly underestimated how difficult and time consuming it would be to live alone, cook for myself and be away from my family. It's different for everyone though.

In general, I wouldn't do anything differently because my mistakes have taught me a lot and shaped me into the person I am. Although I will stress one thing-- don't give up. It will be tough at times but getting through the hard bits is rewarding.
