So I'm 21, live alone and work. I'm thinking of going to university, not 100% in what but I have ideas and time.

The main reason for the post is that I would need to do an access course to get onto a degree. Can anyone give me some advice on how to proceed? I'm not sure if I could receive a grant from the government, or if i'd have to pay for the access course, which will take a long time to save for.

If anyone can help it would be much appreciated, as stated I only have GCSE's so no usable UCAS points or anything.

    Thanks

Most of what you need is here.

You normally need Maths and English GCSE, but not always.

Find an idea of what uni course and where you wish to do it then see what entrance requirements they require. Access will be accepted for most courses and most unis, but not all.

Imo do one at a college with real teachers and students rather than distance learning. Its normally 3 days a week of classes and can be intense.

Find a course thats suitable for the degree you wish to do as they often offer a number of access courses.

Paid for with an advanced learner loan and writen off if you pass and then finish your degree.
