I'm currently a high school student a bit outside Chicago planning on going to university in the U.K next year. (I don't know which one yet, but I applied to Economics at Manchester, Bristol, Glasgow, and for Business at Exeter and Edinburgh). Does anyone have any advice on topics such as: the social scene, difference in class structure/classwork, things not to do as a foreigner, or anything else. Maybe you've had an American friend whose experiences I could learn from?

Quick side note, I don't like to drink. Will that be a big problem when trying to meet people at parties and such? Is it considered rude not to drink?

    Thanks in advance

There'll be loads of people who don't drink so don't worry. Have a good look at the SU pages, clubs and societies and course structures for each uni to work out how things work. You can also connect with students through here.
