Chemistry paper chromatography help

I was doing some exam questions and the question was

"Explain how different dyes in X are seperated by paper chromatograhy (4 marks)"

I gave myself 3 marks because i included everything but ' each dye in X has different attractions for the paper'. What does it mean by this? :h:
Thank You xxxx
It means they just spread out because there are multiple dyes in X for example if the X dye was green and consisted of yellow and blue the blue would go to one area and the yellow would go to the area depending on how dilute or pigmented each colour in the dye is. I hope this helps ☺️
