I'm currently in year 12 and interested in studying maths at uni (possibly Cambridge). I want to do some extra things to expand my interest (and look good for unis) and am currently attending the RI Y12 Maths Masterclasses which are really useful, and I've applied to the Sutton Trust Summer School in Cambridge for Maths, but it's unlikely I'll be accepted as I don't fit many of the priority criteria (e.g. free school meals). Does anyone know of any other maths opportunities (e.g. internships or summer schools which are either free or less than £200) for someone hoping to study maths?
    Thanks!

One thing you could do is to teach yourself some R and statistics (for R, use the book by Hadley and Wickham) and achieve things like building a mode using some data and cool stuff around that. Free, and you get a skill out of it.

Thanks for the recommendation! I'll definitely look into it!

Thanks, I've been doing UMKT maths challenges for the last 5 years and have often got through to the Kangaroo but unfortunately not the BMO. Maybe next year!

They are looking for good mathematicians, so just keep doing what you're doing. i.e. lots of maths
