    in my aqa biology specification ot says the hydrolysis of atp can be coupled to ejergy requiring reactions within cells. what does this mean? what's does coupling mean in this context? thanks

    ATP is the currency for energy. So if you release ATP, you release energy to the cells that need it. By hydrolysis of ATP, a phosphate group is released so energy is released too. The energy comes from the bond of the phosphate group that was released
