Recently I was able to view the percentages I gained in my I/GCSE exams last summer. I really want to study Biology at a top university (hopefully Cambridge) and am currently studying Biology, Chemistry, Maths and German, however, I was annoyed to find out I achieved 149/180 or 83% in the papers combined - this was really odd because I had achieved 98% in the mock paper and whilst completing past papers I would get percentages in the 90s. Now I am concerned that the same thing will happen in my A-Levels and that I will miss out on offers and score a lower grade than expected. I was trying to think of some reasons for this drop in marks and was wondering if anyone also had any suggestions? Mine are: I found the paper harder than usual and think I made a couple of silly mistakes, I was probably quite nervous about doing the papers and that maybe my revision thinned out after the mocks because I concentrated on the subjects that took up lots of time e.g. History, Latin and Classical Greek and my only revision for the sciences was past papers. Anyone got any other ideas or think my suggestions make sense??
