I moved schools for sixth form and they are currently recruiting the senior prefects, deputy head Girls and head girl and I don’t know whether to apply or not. At my previous school I was fairly involved - on school council, set up a music club, on the music ‘student improvement team’ etc and most of the teachers + students in the year knew me. At my new school I’m currently an economics prefect and a school events prefect - I applied for School council but wasn’t voted in... I just don’t feel particularly apart of my new school / like it that much. I don’t know whether becoming a prefect would make me feel more involved in the school community + improve personal statement or would just be a waste of time. I currently do a lot of music extracurriculars, but don’t have any real positions of responsibility apart from the prefect duties I’ve already mentioned. So, do you think I should apply or not?
