Why do pancakes have the word 'cake' in them if they're not even cakes? watch

    They go stale when left out in the air while biscuits go soft. A massive Jaffa Cake was made to demonstrate this as VAT isn't applied to cakes where it is to biscuits. This stopped VAT being applied to it. (I learned that on QI.)

    Pan cakes are cakes made on a pan… like the mixture is similar to that of a cake, you’re probably thinking of a crepe when you say pancake because you’re in Europe. But pancakes in the American style are literally cakes made on a pan!
