I am thinking of applying. To those who have worked or currently work at Aldi:
What is it like to work there?
What are hours like? (as it seems like the contracts have variable shifts)
Are total number of hours fixed though?
Is there much overtime e.g they say on website that contracts are 15-30 hours but is it possible to work 40+?
What's the format of the store: how many people work in the store?
Feel free to give as detailed response

Is there anyone else considering applying for a position at Aldi?

Bloody hell, the rate they scan the shopping items is disgusting.
Like you'll need to have fast hands.
Then they have the cheek to say "Do you need help with your packing love?"

Haha thanks for the heads up. Yeah I haven't been in an Aldi for a while. But their advertised pay caught my attention. I guess they make them work hard for it haha.

You will definitely work for your money!

If you are on tills you will be monitored on how many items you scan per minute..hence why the operators scan so fast and they have packing shelfs away from the checkouts specifically for this.

If you work on shop floor you will be expected to be speedy with getting stock out ect. You may have to jump on and off tills if needed. You will also be told to memorize the store layout and aisles as when a customer asks where such and such is, you can just say it's by X,Y,Z rather than take them too it as it will save you time :'D

I can't tell you anything about hours ect as I was only there for 2 weeks as a temp. Good opportunities for progression if you want it.
