    Cardiac output refers to the amount of blood that is pumped out of the heart in the space of a minute. Blood pressure refers to the force against the arterial walls as the heart pumps out blood.

    There is also a relationship between blood pressure and cardiac output.

    MAP = CO x SVR

    Mean arterial pressure = cardiac output multiplied by the systemic vascular resistance (i.e. the resistance of the systemic circuit).
