I'm in year 13 and so will be sitting my exams in a few months, but I've just been offered a job. It's 15 hours on a Saturday and Sunday, my family and teachers have all advised against getting a job at this point since exams are so close, but in all honesty I rarely do any school work on weekends anyway. I was hoping my weekends would change and become revision time this close to exams, but I also like the idea of having some extra money coming in. Any advice?

You clearly don't need the money (as you only 'like the idea' of it) and you actually need your A-levels to go to uni. Your family and teachers are right, you need to be revising on the weekends, not putting your time and energy into a job you don't really need. In August you don't want to have not got into uni for the sake of a bit of money you didn't need, because you didn't revise enough by working on the weekends instead.

if you don't need one then i wouldn't bother. I work saturday and sunday and am in year 13 and since getting the job honestly my grades have gone down. not because of the fact i don't revise anymore (because i didn't really on weekends anyway) but i think it's because as i don't have any days off anymore i'm just tired all the time which effects my effort. sadly though not working isn't an option for me as my parents don't have the money to give me. (although only having earnt £750 in like 6 months makes me feel like it isn't even worth it). I'd say if its experience you want do an hour or so a week in a charity shop or get a work placement over half term, even have a look if your school have any jobs available (ik my school hire a year 13 office assisant and cleaner helpers after school)
