I'm sorry if this question has already been asked but, I recently received an unconditional offer from Salford Uni to do a psychology and counselling degree and I'm worried that I won't get employed. I really want to be a counsellor because I love listening to people and helping them but I'm not sure if this really is the best way to go about it. If anyone has done this degree or something similar I'd love to see any information you have, thank you

I’m doing a Psychology degree, and my lecturers have said that a pure Psychology degree is better than a combined degree. If you know you want to be a counsellor, then it sounds ideal, but if there is any doubt, I’d recommend a pure Psychology degree so you learn different areas you could pursue.

You probably already know this, but if you want a career in psychology, make sure the course you take is BPS accredited.

    I hope this helps!
